We welcome all students to join the SRJC APASS Learning Community. 


  • Eligible to register in English 1A (fall semester) or English 5 (spring semester), for a full year
  • Interested in exploring Asian Pacifc American authors, issues, and experiences 
  • Willing to register for concurrent counseling, nutrition, or sociology course 
  • Interested in obtaining an associate degree or transferring to a four-year university or college
  • Willing to participate in field trips and events that take place outside of regular class time


  • Textbooks provided for all APASS courses 
  • Dedicated APASS drop-in counseling
  • Study hour with tutors for APASS courses 
  • Field trips to colleges/universities
  • Attend cultural events in Bay Area
  • Meet with professionals in the community 
  • Develop friendships with other students
